The Janis Experience was conceived when a promoter heard Lisa singing a Janis tune during a sound check, telling her she needed to do a tribute to Janis Joplin. Before she knew it she was booked! After searching for 2 years she found the right line-up with Michael Leccese (Guitar), Stewart Lieberman (Keyboard), Richard Thomas (Bass) & Rick Wolanski (Drums) to form what is now known as "The Janis Joplin Experience starring Lisa Polizzi”. Lisa’s voice, drop dead resemblance and ability to channel the legendary singer’s stage performance is uncanny, leaving audiences at numerous sold-out shows mesmerized since 2017.
Lisa Polizzi was voted one of the top 3 singers on Long Island in The Long Island Press’s “Best of Long Island 2014”, and The Lisa Polizzi Band has also had nominations for best band by the same publication. She has been nominated by Nashville’s Josie Awards for rock artist of the year in 2015 & 2016 and has advanced to Senior Producer of the final season of X-Factor. Lisa was the winner of Fox 5 New York’s Star of the Day and performed with NY Yankees star Bernie Williams & The All Star Band. In 2016 The Lisa Polizzi Band won the Nikon Jones Beach contest qualifying them to open Rascal Flatts. In 2018 Lisa also won the Dollywood Josie awards for female rising star, and performed at The Apollo Theatre on April 24th 2024. She was also considered for the Part of Janis on Broadway receiving 3 callbacks! Her story is published in a book called "The Artist Collection"
